Library Access

The Galter Health Sciences Library & Learning Center serves the faculty, staff, residents and students of Feinberg School of Medicine. Individuals without a connection to Northwestern University must have approval to enter and use the library (outlined below). The library is not open to the public.

Extended Hours Study Space

We offer 24/7 access to our Extended Hours Study Space for members of the Feinberg School of Medicine community. Outside of regular library hours, you can tap your university-issued WildCard or Northwestern Medicine badge to access the space. If you encounter access issues or have questions, please contact us.

Affiliated Hospitals

Each affiliated hospital provides independent library services to meet the needs of their staff and patients. Galter Library offers limited privileges for staff at the organizations listed below.

Guest or Visitor Privileges

Occasionally, Feinberg staff or faculty may request privileges to the Galter Library for an another individual (e.g., a long-term visitor or a special employee of Northwestern University). Requests for privileges should include the:

Name of the visitor(s) and name of the supervisor, sponsor or host in the department.
Duration of the visit or appointment.
Goals for the individual's time in the library.

Please note that access to electronic resources is available to visitors only via the library's public computer workstations. Temporary guest logins are issued at the Galter Health Sciences Library Circulation Desk.
